The M181 will be closed in both directions at the weekend to allow for major construction work.

It will be closed with a diversion route in place from Friday at 20:00 BST until Monday at 06:00 GMT.

The work, between Frodingham and the M180, is part of the multi-million-pound development to build the new Burringham Road southern roundabout junction.

When it has reopened, the M181 will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

The new junction is set to alleviate traffic congestion for people living in Burringham and drivers using the Berkeley Circle, North Lincolnshire Council said.

The full schedule of work is anticipated to be completed in spring next year after it started in July.
