Police said a motorcyclist died after crashing with a double-decker bus and a car in North Yorkshire

A motorcyclist has died following a collision involving a car and a bus.

North Yorkshire Police said the incident happened at 19:20 BST on Friday on the B1222 between South Milford and Sherburn in Elmet.

The crash involved a green Kawasaki motorcycle heading towards bikers' cafe Squires from Sherburn in Elmet, a silver Volvo travelling in the same direction and a double-decker Arriva bus heading in the opposite direction.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is asked to contact the police.

"Sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family have been informed," a force spokesperson said.

The road reopened early on Saturday morning after forensic investigation work had been completed.
