Man charged over social media post inciting unrest

A man has been charged with an offence relating to a video posted online.

West Midlands Police said the video was believed to contain content which was suspected of making threats and inciting unrest.

Omar Abdirizak, 30, from Sparkbrook, Birmingham, is due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday.

He is accused of conveying information which was known to be false intending at the time of sending to cause non-trivial psychological or physical harm to a likely audience.

Police said on Sunday he was also charged with possession of Class B drugs and a racially-aggravated public order offence.
