A man has been charged with dangerous driving following a crash that killed three men in East Sussex last year.

Daniel Davies, 21, Jonny Day, 32 and Jon 'Tommy' Miller, 36, all from Berkshire, died in the crash in Decoy Drive, Eastbourne, at about 22:40 GMT on 13 February 2023.

Robbie Cook, a 39-year-old from Croxden Way in the town, was arrested three days later.

On Friday, Sussex Police said he had been charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving and one count of perverting the course of justice.

Mr Cook is on conditional bail to appear before Hastings Magistrates' Court on 25 September, the force said.

Two other men, aged 40 and 17 at the time of the offence, were previously arrested on suspicion of murder but have since been released with no further action taken.

Det Ch Insp Alex Campbell, from Sussex and Surrey's Major Crime Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with the families of Daniel, Jonny and Tommy following the tragic events of last year.

“Since that night, we have worked tirelessly to understand exactly what happened and provide them with the answers they deserve."
