The death of a man on a canal boat in Warwickshire is being treated as unexplained, police have said.

Emergency services were called to a "medical emergency" on a section of Coventry Canal on Coleshill Road in Atherstone shortly before 16:30 BST on Monday.

A man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead on board the boat, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police added the man's next of kin had been informed and his death was being treated as "unexplained" at this time.
