Child taken to hospital after being hit by car

A child is in a stable condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Great Casterton, in Rutland.

Leicestershire Police said it happened on Old Great North Road at about 16:00 BST on Saturday.

The driver of the car was not injured, and the road was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Leicestershire Police on 101.
