Christmas lights events across Lincolnshire

Lincoln's Christmas lights will be switched on on 27 November

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Lincolnshire as towns and cities in the region start to light up for the festive season.

From town centre lights switch-ons to Christmas markets and parades, here are some of the events to help get us into the festive spirit.

Gainsborough: A Christmas lights festival will take place on Friday 14 November between 15:00 and 21:00 at Market Place with light displays, street theatre, local artists and festive crafts. A seperate event at Marshall's Yard has been rescheduled to Sunday 16 November.

Grimsby: The Great Grimsby Christmas festival will take place in St James' Square, Riverhead Square, Grimsby Minster and Freshney Place on Saturday 22 November. There will be live entertainment, free activities, a Christmas market and a parade in the town centre. The Christmas tree will be lit in St James' Square at 17:45 followed by a festive party.

Scunthorpe: The Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday 22 November in Church Square/Queen Elizabeth Memorial Gardens. There will be entertainers, stage acts and family-friendly activities.

Lincoln: Special guests and the cast of the New Theatre Royal's pantomime will switch on the Christmas lights at 17:00 on Thursday 27 November on High Street.

Cleethorpes: A Christmas tree lighting event will take place on Friday 28 November between 17:00 and 19:00 at St Peter's Avenue. There will be a student Christmas market in the church hall. The tree lights will be switched on at about 18:15.

Spalding: Spalding town centre will host its Christmas celebration and lights switch-on event at 16:00 on Friday 28 November. There will be stalls and street entertainment across Hall Place, Sheep Market car park and Market Place, with the actual switch-on at 19:15.

Brigg: The Christmas market and lights switch-on will take place on Friday 28 November from 16:00.

Epworth: The Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Friday 28 November from 17:45 in the town centre.

Alford: A Christmas extravaganza is planned for Saturday 29 November. Organised by Alford Town Promotions, the event will take place between 13:00 and 19:00 at the Market Place.

Haxey: The Christmas lights will be switched on after 17:00 on Saturday 29 November at Haxey Memorial Hall. There will be a fairground, stalls, raffle, Santa Postbox and the illuminated tractor run.

Winterton: The Christmas lights will be switched on on Saturday 29 November as part of an outdoor festive market between 14:00 and 20:00. The lights will be switched on at 18:00.

Sleaford: The Sleaford Christmas market will take place on Sunday 30 November from 10:30 to 16:30. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 16:15.

Grantham: The Christmas lights switch-on will take place on Sunday 30 November, with events taking place on Market Place and Westgate between 11:00 and 17:00. The lights will be switched on at 16:30. Road closures will be in place in Market Place, Conduit Lane, Narrow and Wide Westgate, part of Guildhall Street and Welby Street between 05:00 and 21:00.

Kirton in Lindsey: The Christmas lights switch-on event will take place on Sunday 30 November from 15:00 in the Market Place, High Street, Sylvester Street and Diamond Jubilee Town Hall. The lights will be switched on at 17:00.

Spilsby: A Christmas market will be held on Saturday 6 December between 10:00 and 17:00 at Franklin Hall on Halton Road. The Christmas lights will be switched on at 16:30 at the Christmas tree.

Belton: The Belton Christmas lights will be switched on in a ceremony on Saturday 6 December from 16:00 with the lights switch-on at 16:30 and live music from 19:00 until late.
