A man charged after a Hearts player was struck by a lighter during a match against Dundee United will not face court action, BBC Scotland News has learned.
The incident happened during the match Hearts won 3-2 at Tannadice on Sunday 10 August.
An investigation was launched after a lighter was reported to have been thrown from the stands, and a 23-year-old man was later arrested and charged.
The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said that, after "full and careful consideration of all facts and circumstances", the case had been dealt with by way of an offer of an alternative to prosecution. These can include warnings, compensation, and work orders.
