A 17-year-old boy is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash involving a motorcycle and a van.

The boy - who was riding the motorcycle - was airlifted from the scene in Retford Road in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, on Monday afternoon.

Nottinghamshire Police said emergency crews were called to the road, at the junction with Shrewsbury Road, at 13:36 GMT.

The force has appealed for any additional witnesses to come forward.

PC Nathan Staley said: "We are working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before this collision took place.

"We have already spoken with a number of witnesses but would also like to hear from anyone else who saw or heard what happened."
