A 16-year-old boy and a man have been badly injured in a double stabbing in the street in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the boy and the 20-year-old suffered "serious injuries" after the 19:00 GMT attack around Rushford Street and Purcell Street, in Levenshulme.

GMP said the pair were both taken to hospital but no arrests have been made.

Det Insp Terina Arthern said: "We are urging anyone who was in the area this evening who may have seen or heard something, or anyone who has any information that will assist our enquiries, to come forward and speak with police."
