A cyclist was robbed after being struck by a car in Blackpool, police have said.

The man was cycling on Lower Promenade Cleveleys, just off the Norbreck Castle slipway between 06:20 and 06:30 BST on Monday when a black estate-type vehicle hit him from behind, the force said.

Some fishing equipment was then stolen from him.

The man was taken to hospital and police have said they were trying to trace the car and its occupants. They have asked for any witnesses to contact them.
