A man has been charged in connection with a spate of break-ins in Wolverhampton and Walsall in a period spanning three months.

The 19-year-old, arrested in Wolverhampton on Monday, remained in custody and was due to appear before magistrates in the city on Wednesday, West Midlands Police said.

He is alleged to have targeted homes between 21 August and 14 October.

Charges include conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit vehicle theft.

The force has been investigating 22 break-ins, including 18 in the Tettenhall and Wednesfield areas of Wolverhampton, and four in Willenhall in Walsall borough.

They have also been probing several vehicle thefts in Wolverhampton and Walsall.
