People urged to check properties for missing woman

Police have said that finding a missing 79-year-old woman is the force's "highest priority in Cornwall".

Devon and Cornwall Police said Anne Stacey was last seen at her home in St Cleer on Friday 27 September, with her movements since then unknown.

The force said it has launched a "significant policing operation by specially trained teams and search and rescue volunteers".

Officers have urged the public not to join in the search but for residents of St Cleer to check their sheds, gardens and outbuilding, as well as dash cams and doorbell footage.

The force said it was undertaking house-to-house visits, vast area searches and CCTV inquiries.

It said it had received a large number of possible sightings of Anne, which officers had followed up but none had been confirmed.

Anne is a white female, about 5ft 3 inches (1.6m) tall and of slim build.

She has grey hair in a long bob and wears reading glasses.

She uses two walking sticks and may be wearing a pair of blue crocs.

Martin Whitehouse, from Devon and Cornwall Police, asked members of the public "not to speculate on social media as it could be distressing for the family".

He said the force had more than 100 officers and police staff involved in the search, adding that finding Anne was the force's "highest priority in Cornwall".
