Gunfire and pyrotechnics: Docks to become film set
- Published
People are being warned they may hear replica gunfire and pyrotechnics in an East Yorkshire town, as filming takes place at the docks.
A letter sent to residents and business owners in Goole by production company Oblik Productions said preparation work was happening on set ahead of filming later in the month.
The company described the production as "a feature film, due for release in 2025".
East Riding of Yorkshire Council confirmed there would be road closures for the filming including on Church Street, St John's Street and Aire Street between 14:30 BST on 25 October and 04:30 GMT on 27 October.
In the letter, Oblik Productions said the special effects filming would be undertaken by "industry approved and licensed specialist crew members" and that the "most audible operations" would take place earlier in the evening.
It said most of the filming would be screened from public view.
There will be access for vehicles and pedestrians to get to their homes and businesses "at all times", and the company said it would be "making a donation to a local charity on behalf of surrounding residents" as a token of their gratitude.
Goole has previously been used as a film set for the 2018 Bill Nighy film Sometimes Always Never and the 2015 ITV drama Black Work starring Sheridan Smith.
Oblik Productions, Screen Yorkshire and Associated British Ports all declined to comment.
