Sky gazers last night were treated not only to a meteor shower but a spectacular display of the Northern lights.
After a strong geomagnetic storm in the early hours of Monday morning, the aurora borealis could be seen in Norfolk.
Shooting stars from the Perseid meteor shower were also on display in the night sky.
The Perseids pass through our atmosphere every year when the Earth orbits through debris left by the Swift-Tuttle comet.
There will be more chances to observe the meteor shower on Monday night.
