Andrew Jackson died three weeks after he was hit by a bus

A family has paid tribute to an "amazing dad" with "a heart of gold" who died after he was hit by a bus in Aberdeenshire.

Andrew Jackson, from Aberdeen, was struck near Toll of Birness on the A952 at the A90 at about 14:10 on Tuesday 8 October.

Police were called to the crash and MrJackson was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The 45-year-old died in hospital three weeks later on Tuesday 29 October.

In a statement, his family said: “Andrew was a beloved partner to Andrea, an amazing dad to Ritchie and Andrew and a cherished son of Margaret and Eddie.

“Loved always and forever in our hearts.

“Andrew was a wonderful person with the biggest smile and a heart of gold. He was loved by all who knew him.”

Sgt Eoin Maxwell said: “Our thoughts are with Andrew’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We ask anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to please come forward.", external
