Man arrested after pedestrian dies in road crash

A man has been arrested after a pedestrian died in a collision in the early hours of Sunday.

Northamptonshire Police said the incident happened at 01:55 GMT on the A4500 in Earls Barton.

A black Ford pickup was in collision with a pedestrian close to the junction with Wellingborough Road, the force said.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, died at the scene, while a 60-year-old Wellingborough man has been arrested.

Police said he had been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Office appealed for any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact them.
