Man arrested following stabbing outside a pub

A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed outside a pub in Surrey.

Police said they were called to the Whyteleafe Tavern, in Whyteleafe, at 17:30 GMT on Wednesday.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with stab wounds and later released, said Surrey Police.

A 43-year-old man, from Whyteleafe, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, the force confirmed.

Det Insp Jo Horner said: “We want to reassure you that our teams are working hard to understand what happened.”

She urged anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage to contact the force.
