An appeal has been launched to identify a driver who allegedly spat at broadcaster Tom Swarbrick's wife.

Kent Police are seeking witnesses to an assault which occurred in Tunbridge Wells at about 13:10 GMT on Saturday.

Mr Swarbrick, who hosts a radio programme on LBC, posted on social media saying a man had spat in his wife's face in front of their daughter.

Police said a man driving in Cornford Lane, towards Pembury, verbally abused and spat at an occupant of a vehicle travelling in the other direction.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 50s and of a stocky build with "greying hair" that is longer at the front, police said.

He is believed to have been wearing a grey t-shirt, driving a light-coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Corsa, and behaved "in an aggressive manner towards other road users" before the incident, the force added.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
