Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was found injured in Melton Road

Police have arrested three men after a man was found injured in a street in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police was called to a report of damage being caused to cars in Melton Road in Thurmaston, at about 19:00 BST on Friday.

When officers arrived, they found the injured man, who was subsequently taken to hospital. He remains there in a critical but stable condition.

The force said it had arrested three men aged 33, 37 and 53 "in connection with the incident".

A police spokesperson said it could not say what offences the men were arrested on suspicion of due to "operational reasons".

The force has appealed for anyone with any information to come forward.
