A police force has said it made 12 arrests in relation to Donald Trump's second state visit to the UK.

Thames Valley Police was on high alert for the US president's trip to Windsor on Wednesday, where he and First Lady Melania Trump were hosted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Officers said the arrests were made for a number of offences, including six related to flying a drone in restricted airspace.

Before Trump arrived in the Berkshire town, four people were also arrested on suspicion of projecting images of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the president on to Windsor Castle on Tuesday night.

Thames Valley Police thanked the public for their support with the multi-million pound security operation.

Supt Andrew Cranidge, tactical commander for the policing operation, said: "The number of arrests represents an incredibly small minority of all those who were in Windsor during this event.

"We are always honoured to police events of international significance and remain committed to both representing and serving our communities."
