Teenagers arrested after suspected car robbery

Three teenagers have been arrested after a man reported an armed attempt to steal his car.
Officers were called to Lakeside Shopping Centre at about 19:30 BST on Saturday after a man said he had been threatened with a knife and another weapon while he was inside his vehicle.
He drove to safety and called the police who dispatched units including armed officers.
Two 17-year-old boys and one aged 16 were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon and remain in custody.
A knife and a hammer were seized after police searched them.
Det Insp Steve Baker said: “Very much thanks to the detailed descriptions of the suspects, we were able to quickly identify those believed to be responsible and ensure they were arrested as quickly as possible.
“In doing that, we’ve also taken two dangerous weapons off the streets – and they’ll be destroyed.”
