Two charities are appealing for sponsors for 60 giant dolphin statues to be placed around Guernsey.

The GSPCA and Autism Guernsey have planned the Dolphin Discovery Trail for 2025 following the success of their Puffin Parade last year, which raised more than £140,000.

The GSPCA said the event would not only be a celebration of the achievements of the two charities, but also a chance to support their work as both charities have been facing financial challenges.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA manager, said: "Both charities do so much for the community and we are delighted to once again join up for what is going to be another amazing event."

Recognition of support

The GSPCA said members of the public could sponsor on behalf of a business, group, organisation, family or as a gift.

It added that each sponsor would be able to choose a suitable location and have their details on the plinth in recognition of their support of the Dolphin Discovery Trail 2025.

The trail would be launched next spring and would end in an auction that would take place towards the end of summer 2025, the proceeds of which would be shared between both charities.

Mr Byrne added: "Like the Puffin Parade and similar events in previous years we are looking for sponsors for the giant dolphin statues and artists to paint them as well as locations to place them, help with the hunt app, website, raffle, auction location and much more.
