Four men were arrested on suspicion of theft after vehicles were found in Odiham

Four people have been arrested after police investigating the theft of a Land Rover in Hampshire found a digger, trailers, a quad and tools.

Police said they believed a group had been stealing vehicles and bringing them back to the site in Odiham, which was raided on Tuesday.

Officers raided the same site in 2021 and seized 29 stolen vehicles including caravans, vans, cars and quad bikes, Hampshire Constabulary said.

A 26-year-old man from Odiham, a 20-year-old man from Tadley and two men from Reading, aged 35 and 38, were arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed.

Hampshire and Thames Valley's rural crime teams arrested four men

The raid, led by Hampshire's Country Watch Rural Crime Task Force, followed the theft of the Land Rover and trailer from Hayling Island in June.

Specialist officers, including drone operators, search officers, firearms officers and the dog unit, joined the operation at the site off Farnham Road.

Two of the arrests were carried out in Berkshire by Thames Valley Rural Crime Task Force.

Sgt Michael Cork, of Hampshire Constabulary, said: "The proceeds from this type of offending will feed back into organised crime.

"We want to make this a hostile place for rural criminals, and we will continue to carry out proactive warrants and operations to target the people, vehicles and locations we suspect are linked to the offending, and seize stolen property."

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force.
