Officers were called to Buckingham Street at about 02:00 GMT on Saturday, where a 35-year-old man was found with a stab wound to his stomach and head injuries.

An hour later, a 33-year-old woman was found with wounds to her neck in Rosmead Street.

Police said a 48-year-old man from Hull had been remanded in custody and was due to appear at Hull Magistrates' Court later.
