A woman has had the "fabulous" experience of completing a wingwalk for charity to commemorate her upcoming 85th birthday.
Tina Hobin, who is originally from Kidderminster, Worcestershire, and now lives in Cleobury Mortimer, Shropshire, took on the challenge on Friday at RFC Rendcomb Airfield.
Discussing the experience, she said: "The adrenaline rush was brilliant and it's just made me feel happy, because I've done it and it's something I've always wanted to do but never had the opportunity."
Ms Hobin's daring deed has seen her raise more than £400 towards her £700 target with funds set to go to Dementia UK, Parkinson's UK and Pancreatic Cancer UK.
"The worst part was actually climbing up on top of the wings and you're strapped onto this pole," she said.
"Because the plane was wet they had to keep wiping it because it was slippery. It was like a battle just trying to get onto to it."
Ms Hobin described the experience as "amazing", adding: "I thought it was fabulous, but I must be mad. I'm called daft and nutty by lots of people.
"It was about 10 minutes but it got to a certain point and this is where I get a bit frightened in a sense because my face felt like it was being cut by something very sharp.
"I tried to put my hand on it but it wouldn't stop but it was the rain - it was terribly painful and it was a bit frightening because I didn't realise what was happening.
"But it was a challenge and I won it."
