Pedestrian dies after being struck by car

A 34-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Aberdeen.

The collision happened on Dyce Drive at about 22:45 on Thursday.

Police Scotland said the accident involved a black Citroen C1 car and a pedestrian.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for investigations and reopened at about 10:15 on Friday.

Sgt Sarah Ritchie said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us, external.

"We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time to check if they have dash-cam footage that can help with our investigation."
