Woman, 80, dies two days after A14 collision

A woman has died two days after a road traffic collision involving three cars.

The emergency services were called to the stretch of the A14 westbound between junction 37, for Newmarket, and junction 38 for the A11 at about 15:10 BST on Friday.

Cambridgeshire Police said the collision involved a Fiat Panda, a Toyota Corolla and a Mercedes Benz C220.

The driver of the Panda, an 80-year-old woman from Beck Row, Suffolk, was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds with serious injuries. She died on Sunday.

The force said other drivers involved had suffered minor injuries.

Det Sgt Craig Wheeler, said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have seen the collision or has dashcam footage of it, or the Panda, in the moments before the collision."
