Motorists in northern England have been warned of potential delays over the weekend due to the journey of a 124-tonne vehicle, which will take over two lanes.
It began travelling from its Rotherham manufacturer in South Yorkshire on Friday before being driven later along the M62, M66, A56, M65, M61 and M6 to Tebay services in Cumbria.
Accompanied by a police escort, the 4.8 metre-wide generator will then travel on the M6 to junction 40 and then the A66 and A595 to its destination.
The Traffic England authority said the timings of these moves had been agreed between the police and the haulier.
