Wind turbine vandalism costs run to £20,000

Wind turbine deliveries have been taking place in the Borders in recent weeks

Damage caused by vandals to a vehicle transporting wind turbine blades through the Borders will cost about £20,000 to repair.

Police Scotland said about 20 tyres had been damaged in the incident between 12 and 14 November.

Vandals targeted the vehicle while it was parked in a layby just off the A7 south of Selkirk.

Anybody who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time has been asked to come forward.
