A charity has relaunched its festive Christmas tree recycling campaign to support people affected by poor mental health.

Dorset Mind is teaming up with charity partners Maidmans Moving and Storage, and PKF Francis Clark, to collect Christmas trees from homes in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole areas.

Collections will be available on 4 and 5 January for a minimum £10 donation to the charity.

The campaign, which is in its thrid year, raised about £5,000 for the charity last year.

This year there will also be a drop-off point at Tower Park, Poole.

The trees will be recycled by JSR Tree Care to avoid sending them to landfill sites.

Maidmans’ director, Steven Webber, said: “The donations raised will be used to provide vital mental health services in Dorset which, especially at this time of year, are invaluable.”

Dorset Mind’s chief executive, Linda O’Sullivan, added: “Next year, more than ever, local people will turn to us for help after the pressures of Christmas - and with our partners’ support, we will be able to help those who need it most."
