Road closed after serious collision

A serious collision has taken place on a road in North Yorkshire, with drivers being warned by police to avoid the area.

Officers said the A170 was closed between Sinnington and Keldholme in Ryedale at about 16:00 BST as a result of the crash.

The road was expected to remain closed for "some time", according to North Yorkshire Police.

Motorists who were travelling between Pickering and Kirkbymoorside were advised to find an alternative route.
