A second man has been charged in connection with the deaths of three fishermen in 2022.

The fishing boat L'Ecume II sank after a collision with the Commodore Goodwill ferry off Jersey on 8 December, with Michael Michieli, Jervis Ramirez Baligat and Larry Simyunn onboard.

Jersey police said UK resident Lewis Peter Carr, aged 29, was charged with the unlawful killing of all three men within the territorial waters of Jersey.

Mr Carr appeared at Jersey Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Artur Sevash-Zade, 34, a Ukrainian national, was the first to be arrested in connection with the deaths of three fishermen in 2022.

Mr Sevash-Zade, who was arrested in the UK and brought to the island, previously appeared in Jersey's Magistrate's Court with an interpreter as he was charged with the unlawful killing of all three men.

He is on remand and due before the Royal Court in September.

Jersey police said no further arrests were planned as part of the Operation Nectar investigation.
