A paddleboarder and swimmer have been rescued off the north Devon coast.

The RNLI said it was called to help a person cut off by the tide at Barricane Beach, Woolacombe, at about 19:30 BST on Tuesday.

A lifeboat crew found them stranded on the rocks.

Earlier in the day, crews rescued a paddleboarder at about 11:00 from the same beach, after they got into difficulty about 800m from the shore.

Both were left in the care of the coastguard, the charity added.
