Two charity concerts have been cancelled due to a predicted bad weather in Jersey.

The National Trust for Jersey said its Sunset Concerts, which were due to take place on Friday and Saturday, have been cancelled because of predicted rain and blustery weather.

Funds from the events were set to go towards helping protect the island's coastline.

The trust said the 1,700 plus attendees would receive a full refund minus booking fees and it had no plans to reschedule the concerts in 2024.

Donna Le Marrec, marketing and events manager for the trust, said it "rarely if ever cancel activity".

She said: "The weather is beyond our control, and it wouldn’t be pleasant for concert goers or the bands and technical teams if the weather is as predicted.

"We are sincerely sorry for any disappointment this will cause attendees."

Jersey Met forecast for Friday from midday to sunset has sunny spells with showers "perhaps heavy" likely, accompanied by a force four or five wind.
