A man who was stabbed in the face with a screwdriver has been asked to come forward by police.

Officers are concerned for the victim’s welfare following reports he sustained a puncture wound to his cheek.

The incident happened inside Andy Cars on Eastgate Street in Gloucester at about 04:10 BST on Saturday, police said.

A man, aged in his 40s, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, has been released on bail.

"Officers would also like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any relevant mobile phone or CCTV footage," a Gloucestershire Police spokesperson said.
