New affordable homes ready for rent by summer

A new apartment complex of 18 affordable homes built at a seaside resort are nearly ready.
The two-bedroom social rent homes in Weymouth have been created on a site on Buxton Road.
Dorset Council said the apartments, some with sea views, would be ready for tenants to move into by early Summer.
The homes were built through the redevelopment of brownfield land on a site previously owned by Saint Nicholas Church.
The apartments have been created by housing association SNG - formerly Sovereign Housing Association - working with Dorset Council.
Jane Somper, the authority's lead for housing, adult social care and health, said: "There is a significant need for affordable housing across the Dorset Council area and this is particularly acute in Weymouth.
"The all-affordable housing scheme will assist in meeting this need."
The council said each new apartment could provide a home for a household of up to four people.
