A man in his 70s has died in hospital after being found unresponsive outside a property in Wiltshire.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday in which the victim was found unconscious on the street in Overbrook, Swindon.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Det Insp Penny Andrews, from Wiltshire Police, said: "We are actively investigating the circumstances and keeping an open mind about what may have taken place."

She added: "We need to hear from anyone who was in the area on Friday night and may have seen anything suspicious."

Police would also like to speak to anyone who may have driven past the area and have dash cam footage, or nearby householders who may have doorbell camera recordings.
