Artists across Cornwall are throwing open their doors for the Open Studios event.

It is a chance for to see behind the scenes and meet artists in their studio spaces, which could be anywhere from the back of a garden to a big studio complex, event bosses said.

Nearly 300 Cornish creatives are opening the doors of their studios and workshops until 2 June, with details on the Open Studios website, external.

Project director Bethany Lyne said: "It's a chance to purchase some wonderful artwork and just meet the artists and find out what makes them tick."

She said: "Some of these studios are at the bottom of people's gardens in a shed, some are in their houses, some are in studio complexes.

"So there is a real mix of studios to explore and lots of different artworks to find out about."

Roadside signposts with a big orange circle indicate that an open studio is nearby.

"It's a bit of an adventure going down a track and finding somebody doing amazing ceramics," said Mrs Lane.

For artists it is a chance to get feedback and have "wonderful chats about what inspires them", she said.
