Police are investigating after a person was injured following reports of a group armed with a weapon in a shopping centre.

Officers were called to the Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill, at about 15:30 GMT on Friday.

One person sustained a minor injury and received medical attention, stated West Midlands Police.

Officers were working to understand who was involved in the incident, and had been in the area to provide reassurance, the force added.
