A man has been arrested after four women were sexually assaulted on Sunday morning.

Jersey Police said the sexual assaults had taken place between 06:00 GMT and 07:20 in St Helier.

They said four women had been separately assaulted during that period of time by one man and they appealed for any other further potential victims to come forward, in particular a woman who the suspect had approached.

Police said they had arrested a man at 07:31 following a 999 call from one of his victims and he remained in custody.

The woman officers would like to talk to had had walked past the Coop near the Art Centre in Phillips Street at about 07:00.

The police said she had been approached by the suspect outside the Entertainer on Minden Place and walked past Bean Around the World on Burrard Street before the suspect ran off at the junction of New Street.

The woman had dark hair and had been wearing black trousers, a black jacket and white trainers, they added.

The police named several agencies that offer advice and support for victims of sexual abuse, including the sexual assault referral centre at Dewberry House, Jersey Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support and Victims First Jersey.
