Foundation hands out £1m to charities in December

Grow Jersey received £51,246 of funding

About £1m is being distributed to charities across the island in December by Jersey Community Foundation (JCF).

Bosses said the foundation helped people in a variety of situations and funding had come from a range of sources.

They included the WO Street Fund, Greville Bathe Fund, Ann Alice Rayner Fund, Jersey Community Fund, dormant bank accounts and the Supporting the Supporters Fund.

Anna Terry, chief executive of JCF, said: "These grants address key community challenges and enable organisations to deliver essential services effectively."

Some of the JCF funded projects include:

  • Community Savings which received £90,000

  • Grow Jersey which received £51,246

  • Jersey Action Against Rape or JAAR which received £40,000

  • Kairos Arts which received £28,944
