Tributes have been paid to a "much-loved" man who died after he was hit by a lorry while on foot on a major road.

Mark Bowerman, 65, from Leicestershire, was declared dead at the scene on the westbound carriageway of the A14, near the Catthorpe interchange, on 5 March.

In a statement shared by Northamptonshire Police, Mr Bowerman's family shared their thanks to fellow motorists who stopped to help and the emergency services.

The family added that their "love and thoughts are also with the driver of the lorry and his family at this terrible time".

The statement said: "Mark was very much loved by his family, friends and partner Genny and will be greatly missed.

"We are all trying to process Mark's death and would like to thank Northamptonshire Police, especially Charlie, the family liaison officer, for his compassion and support during this sad time."
