Several people in hospital after five-car crash on M74

Police say "several people" have been taken to hospital after a five-vehicle crash on the M74 near Motherwell.

Emergency crews were called to junction five at the Raith interchange at 08:50 on Thursday. Two northbound lanes were closed until about 11:00

Police Scotland said the people involved were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The Scottish Ambulance Service said two patients were transported to Wishaw General Hospital and one was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres.
