Man arrested following serious crash on A14

A man has been arrested following a serious crash on the A14 this morning.

Northamptonshire Police said a 21-year-old man from Leicestershire was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through careless/inconsiderate driving and is in custody.

A man in his 40s sustained serious head and neck injuries and was taken to University Hospital Coventry during the crash on the westbound carriageway of the A14, just prior to junction 10 for Kettering in Northamptonshire.

He was driving a white Mercedes Sprinter van which collided with the nearside barrier.

Three other people in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The westbound carriageway is closed between junction 13 for Thrapston and junction 10 for Kettering.
