Refurbishment work to begin on St Helier car park

The car park will remain open to the public with no more than two floors closed off at a time

Six months of refurbishment work is set to begin on a multi-storey car park in St Helier.
The States of Jersey announced the plans for the Pier Road car park last year, and the work is scheduled to start on Monday with a completion date of the end of October.
The refurbishment includes repairs to concrete, deep-cleaning the road surfaces, replacing the fencing and redecorating.
No more than two floors of parking will be closed off at a time and the car park will remain open to the public, the government said.
Users of the car park have been advised the surface treatment has an odour but this is not harmful.
Dust and noise barriers will be in place throughout the works, the government said.
