Village road to close for resurfacing works

The work at Oughterside could take two weeks depending on weather and site conditions

A road running through a village is to be closed for up to two weeks while it is resurfaced.
Work on the C2023 at Oughterside, near Aspatria, Cumbria, will get under way on 27 October.
Cumberland Council said a full closure was needed "to ensure the safety of both the workforce and the public" and the completion date would depend on weather and site conditions.
Access for people living in the area will be restricted between 07:30 and 18:00 although traffic marshals will assist residents to reach their properties wherever possible, the local authority added.
Bin collections will continue "where it is safe to do so" and access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists and emergency services will not be affected.
