A range of events have been revealed for a new Cornish festival to showcase the "vibrant community" of Newquay.

Every weekend throughout November, the Be Newquay Festival, will offer performances by local musicians and theatre groups, as well as workshops and art exhibitions, for all ages.

The festival was commissioned by Cornwall Council’s project Experience Newquay, supported by Newquay BID and Visit Newquay, and is part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Many activities are free to attend, to make it "accessible to all members of the community", organisers said.

The programme will take place in different parts of the town centre, from St Michael's Church, to the Killacourt.

Highlights include performances by local band Kana, comedy nights, immersive theatre experiences, and belly-board painting classes.

The festival will also offer a range of wellness activities such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga, sauna, and breathwork.

Earlier this month, multiple murals were unveiled as part of the festival, which hopes to attract more visitors to the town.

More details about the scheduled events can be found on the festival's official website.
