Part of road closed after 'serious assault'

A road has been partially closed following a "serious assault".
Essex Police were called to an incident on the A128 Ingrave Road, in Brentwood, at about 15:30 BST.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We ask members of the public to respect the cordon in place and we will update when possible."
It added that officers would remain at the scene.

Essex Police said on X: "We are currently on the scene of a serious assault in Brentwood, which was reported shortly after 3:30pm today (12 September).
"The A128 Ingrave Road is currently partially closed and officers remain at the scene."
