A teenage army private has appeared in court charged with seriously assaulting a boy at TRNSMT festival in Glasgow.
Lewis Gilchrist, 18, is accused of repeatedly punching and kicking the 16-year-old in the head and on his body, causing him to fall down on 13 July.
The boy is said to have lost consciousness and was taken to hospital with severe injuries.
Mr Gilchrist, whose bail address was given as the Army's Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, made no plea at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Court papers say he acted with another person in the alleged offence.
The charge says that Mr Gilchrist straddled the boy's body after he fell to the ground.
It is then claimed he attempted to kick the boy on the body - all to his severe injury and danger of life.
Mr Gilchrist was granted bail by Sheriff Jonathan Guy and his next court appearance is yet to be determined.
Around 50,000 people attended each day of the festival, which featured headline sets from Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris.
